15 Jan 2010 by SESSA Admin

Here are the results of the Finals held on 13th January at Trent Park

1st Semi Final: Brunel vs Newvic

Newvic opened the batting with intent and some very energetic running between the wickets, and made a respectable 76 runs which could have been a lot more if it wasn't for the solid fielding and bowling display from Brunel.
Brunel started with a steady approach picking gaps and doubling up their runs by targeting the wall, but Newvic with some precise throwing managed to push Brunel to the last couple of overs.

Newvic scored 76 after 12 Overs

Brunel got 77 on the last ball of 12th Over

2nd Semi-Final: Middlesex vs Barking

Barking's first pair started strongly but with some good bowling and a catch Collingwood would have been proud of, Middlesex restricted Barking to 42 runs.
Barking bowlers got their lines right but Middlesex kept finding the gaps and came out worthy winners in the end.

Barking scored 42 after 12 Overs

Middlesex won in 4 Overs but the rules state that play must continue for the full 12 Overs - the final score was 73 after 12 Overs

FINAL: Middlesex vs Brunel

Brunel were batting first and got off to a flyer, with the foundation solid rest of the team started find the gaps and smacking a couple out of the park end up on 77 runs, Middlesex solid in the field made them work hard for their runs.
Middlesex openers made inroads to the target, but Brunel's bowling attack did exactly that and started to increase the run rate required and when the last pair got out there, it was a huge task
